Non-metric variations are features that are only present in a limited proportion of the population.

Common anomalies of this type include a persistent frontal or metopic suture, and the presence of additional bones in the suture lines - so called lambda, lambdoid and wormian ossicles.

Large parietal foramen clearly visible - small holes either side of the sagittal suture. This variation can be present on both sides as here, or one side only.
